The Windy City: Roadtrip Part 3

Even though it doesn’t take too much imagination as to where Chicago got it’s nickname the windy city, you really do find yourself saying “ooooh, that’s why…”  the moment that you leave the quiet protection of a large skyscraper.   You immediately feel it down to your bones.  But the sun did come out and warm us eventually.

We had a great time exploring on foot.  There is no shortage of art and architecture to soak up – I’m certain I could come back again and again and still find new things to fall in love with.  By far, Chicago has one of the cleanest and most beautiful downtown areas of any city I’ve been to.  I only wish I could have spent more time here exploring.  But food was on our minds and more terrain was ahead, so we piled back into the car and headed to Portillo’s for some amazing Hot Dog’s.  Did I mention that they were amazing??  Oh to have one right now…

With all the driving that has been going on, I am baffled that J would still be so willing to get back in the car.  He really is the best traveler EVER!  I love you bug! I’m so proud of you.
