Moments are so fleeting. It seems that no matter how many times you tell yourself to remember a moment and make it a point to drink in every detail you just can’t seem to hold onto a memory exactly the way it was. This is both bitter and sweet I guess. Photographs have definitely aided in recording memories, but they are still just reminders and snippets of a time frozen through a lens. When I came across this image in my archive of my sister-in-law’s wedding, I was looking for something that struck me as “memory” without simply being a memory that I just retell. How wonderful that everything in this image is fuzzy, but that my darling nephew dancing with a little girl came out only slightly more in focus. Is this not exactly how memories are saved in our minds?
